Dear Nokesville church family and friends,

“One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4, NRSV).

I am usually happy to come to church on Sunday morning to worship God with my beloved church family and guests. I was excited to come to church last Sunday because we installed Jamie as our new Accompanist and welcomed her and her husband, Min, to our congregation. We had prayed for several months that God would send His faithful servant to us. Our Lord has answered our prayers by sending us Jamie. Thanks be to God. She played piano and organ to generate worshipful atmosphere, and I sensed that my heart was ignited by the Holy Spirit as she provided prayerful music during the service. I expect that she will enhance our music ministry as we will sing to the Lord joyfully. Praise the Lord.

For over six months, Craig Murschell and Cheryl Wagner, Co-Chairs of Worship Committee, have sacrificially served the Lord and our congregation by providing music for worship services every Sunday. I do not know how to thank them enough. On behalf of our congregation, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Craig and Cheryl for all their hard labor that they have offered with their joyful hearts for God’s glory and kingdom. May God bless them richly so that they may rejoice in the Lord and continue to share that joy with us! We give thanks to the Lord for sending us His faithful servants. We will continue to work with them diligently in solidarity with each other under the lordship of Jesus Christ, as we are led by the Holy Spirit. Surely, we will celebrate the harvest of salvation in God’s time, if we do not give up.

This summer, we try to pay attention to the spiritual disciplines as we desire to go deep in our spiritual walk. Last Sunday, we explored why we need to pray. You can watch it at Sermons | Nokesville Methodist Church – Bible Teaching in Nokesville VA. This Sunday, July 26, we will explore why we want to fast (Joel 2:12-13, Matthew 6:16-18). I hope to see you all soon on the Lord’s day.
